OUR 2028
DESTINATION WEDDING

Our story has always been shaped by distance, travel, and finding home in each other. From chance meetings abroad to moves across oceans, and now to Greece, where we will celebrate a new chapter surrounded by the people who mean the most to us.

We have decided to keep our marriage ceremony private, shared quietly and intentionally between us, before opening our hearts to everyone we love. This celebration in Greece isn’t just about a wedding; it’s about togetherness. It’s a way to bring family and friends from across the world to one beautiful place to eat, laugh, dance, and share in the joy of this next adventure.

More than a single day, this is an experience, a gathering shaped by the paths we’ve taken, the miles we’ve crossed, and the people who have been part of our story. It’s a reflection of our journey, of the people who have supported us, the places that have shaped us, and the adventures that still lie ahead.
Ten Years in the Making
Australia, 2018

Ben and Alex met in Australia, not entirely by chance, but definitely not by plan.
While solo traveling, Alex met another traveler, Benji, and asked if she could join him on his route up the coast. He agreed, as long as his friend was okay with it. That is how Ben and Alex met.
With Alex joining Ben and Benji, the three quickly became inseparable, working, exploring, and road-tripping up the Australian coastline. They did farm work together, shared hostels, told stories under the stars, and made memories of a lifetime.
Somewhere along the way, something quietly shifted between Ben and Alex. They started spending more time together, wandering off on little walks, getting to know each other better, and it just felt easy.
And from there, it all unfolded.
Living long distance
When the trip ended, they didn’t.
For the next few years, they crossed oceans to be together, counting down to each reunion, planning holidays, and cherishing every moment together. From Christmases with each other's families to a trip through Thailand and Malaysia, they made it work and got really good at airport goodbyes (even though they never got easier).

Life in the UK

In 2020, after months of visa delays, Alex packed up her life in the US, quit her job, and moved to the UK (just as the second lockdown began).
They moved in together for the first time while Ben was in university, and adopted their first cat, Jiji, a sweet, calming presence during a strange time. They spent those lockdown months taking long walks, baking everything, and navigating a lot of “firsts” as individuals and a couple.

Like any big transition, it came with adjustments; new routines, new rhythms, but through it all, they kept choosing each other.
They got engaged on a camping trip in France while exploring Bordeaux, when Ben started acting really strange. Alex assumed he was just hungry (as usual), and kept dragging him from café to café trying to feed him. Then out of nowhere, he blurted out, “Will you marry me?”
It was chaotic, imperfect, and completely them, and of course, she said yes.
Soon after, they made another big leap, this time to Vancouver, BC, where they have continued to build their life together. They have added a second cat, Mo (their wobbly kitty), and nearly two years in, Vancouver has become like home.
A French proposal & a Canadian life

A Decade Together
They’ve crossed time zones, visas, lockdowns, long roads, and whole continents together. They’ve seen every version of each other, the beautiful, the messy, the human. And somehow, they keep choosing each other, without hesitation, without fail. They always have. They always will.
